Solid Acoustic
Robberts Solid Acoustic
he Robberts Solid Acoustic is a truly distinctive guitar, developed in the Netherlands after nine years of design, listening, refining, and re-refining. This is not a reinterpretation of an existing model, but an original concept built for the critical guitarist who demands versatility without losing character.
Designed and developed in Hilversum, the Solid Acoustic is an all-round instrument suitable for virtually any playing style, while still retaining a clearly recognizable and individual voice, something few builders genuinely achieve.
Concept & Design
Visually, the Solid Acoustic bridges worlds. It has the appearance and tonal attitude of a semi-acoustic jazz guitar, yet it also delivers the focus, sustain, and control of a solid-body electric.
- Single Florentine-style cutaway
- Classic asymmetrical headstock
- Non-traditional, contemporary soundhole design (Robberts® original)
- No body binding, clean and functional aesthetics
This is a guitar that looks intentional, not decorative.

Body & Tone Architecture
The core of the Solid Acoustic is its layered Redwood body construction combined with routed tone chambers.
- 6-piece laminated solid Redwood body
- Individually routed tone chambers on each side
These chambers can be milled in different configurations, allowing the base tone to be shaped and manipulated - Highly figured Maple back, available in:
- Birdseye Maple
- Flame Maple
Redwood is lightweight, resonant, and rarely used at this scale in guitar building. Traditionally reserved for acoustic tops, it offers excellent tonal response without excessive weight.
An important side effect:
Redwood grows quickly and is widely available, especially in America and Scandinavia, making it a more environmentally responsible choice than many traditional hardwoods.
Dimensions
- Body width: 355.6 mm (14”) measured across the lower bout
- Body depth: 58.4 mm (2 9/32”)
Optional features include bound soundholes and one-piece backs.

Finish & Customisation
The Solid Acoustic is delivered as standard in a natural sunburst finish.
Because Robberts handles all spraying and finishing in-house, any colour is possible as an option.
The Result
Robberts succeeded in combining:
the air and warmth of semi-acoustic guitars
with the stability, sustain, and control of solid-body instruments
The Solid Acoustic is a technically advanced guitar that reflects modern luthiery without gimmicks, built with purpose and restraint.
Developed and built under the direction of Robberts Guitars BV, this instrument stands as a rare example of original Dutch guitar design done right.
If you want, I can next:
condense this into a high-end product page,
rewrite it into a brand manifesto style,
or turn it into a technical comparison versus semi-hollow and solid-body classics.
