The HDRX 50 is a head-only amplifier from the PRS Amplifiers range. It is built around an "Authentic Hendrix" Touring Circuit and finished in black tolex covering with piping. It suits guitarists who want the character of a classic British tube amp in a 50-watt head.

Tube complement and channels

The power section uses a pair of EL34 tubes, the tube type often associated with classic British amplifier sound. The pre-amp section uses three 12AX7 / ECC83 tubes. The two channels are internally bridged, so you do not need an external patch cable to combine them.

Speaker outputs and cabinet matching

The head offers parallel 4 ohm and 8 ohm outputs, plus a single 16 ohm output. As with any tube head, always connect a speaker cabinet that suits the output you choose, and never run the amp without a speaker load. If you are unsure which cabinet fits, ask our team for advice.
