Description

PRS SE CE24 Standard Stoptail Satin Vintage Cherry

The PRS SE CE24 Standard Stoptail Satin in Vintage Cherry combines the snap and response of a bolt-on guitar with an all-mahogany body. The result is a warm, focused tone, now paired with the stability of a stoptail bridge. It is a 24-fret solidbody with a 25″ scale length, a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard with “Old School” bird inlays.

This guitar is available now at House of Guitars for 589 EUR and is currently in stock. Our showroom is in Hilversum, the Netherlands, where we are building one of the largest PRS collections in Europe.

Tone: mahogany body, 85/15 “S” pickups and coil tapping

The mahogany body has a shallow violin top carve and a thin satin finish, which results in a highly resonant instrument. Combined with the bolt-on neck, it gives you a focused, responsive sound.

Two 85/15 “S” pickups sit in the treble and bass positions. The controls are a volume knob, a push/pull tone control and a 3-way toggle pickup switch. The push/pull tone control offers coil tapping, so you can move between classic humbucking growl and snappier single-coil sparkle without changing guitars.

  • Pickups: 85/15 “S” in the treble and bass positions
  • Controls: volume, push/pull tone control and 3-way toggle switch
  • Body: mahogany with a shallow violin top carve and a thin satin finish

Playability: Wide Thin neck, 10″ radius and 24 frets

The maple neck has a semi-gloss finish for a smooth playing feel. The Wide Thin neck shape measures 1 11/16″ at the nut and 2 1/4″ at the body. Depth is 13/16″ at the 1/2 fret and 57/64″ at the 12 1/2 fret.

The rosewood fretboard has a 10″ radius and 24 frets with PRS SE Standard fret wire. The 25″ scale length is shorter than the 25.5″ scale found on many other popular electric guitars, which many players find comfortable for bends and fast playing. The scarfed neck is reinforced with a PRS Double-Acting truss rod, so the neck can be adjusted as needed.

Stoptail bridge: tuning stability and simple setup

The PRS stoptail bridge with brass inserts is a fixed design. It has no tremolo arm, so the strings stay anchored and the setup is simple. That makes it a good choice for players who want plug-and-play reliability. The PRS designed tuners with wing buttons and nickel hardware complete the package.

Who is the SE CE24 Standard Stoptail Satin for?

This guitar suits players who are just starting out, and anyone who wants an affordable, reliable workhorse for their rig. It brings classic PRS design and tone at an exceptional value, and it is a guitar that can grow with you.
