PRS Tekton “Floyd” Multi-Metal Flake

The PRS Tekton “Floyd” pairs the Tekton platform with a Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo. It has a lightweight solid alder body with shallow violin carve, a 25.5″ scale length, 24 stainless steel jumbo frets, a 16″ fretboard radius and the thin Modern “D” neck carve.

This guitar is finished in Multi-Metal Flake with a natural satin maple neck. The solid alder body is finished in high-gloss nitro.

Stylus pickups

The PRS Stylus pickups were developed for the Tekton family. They use Alnico 5 magnets and have a flatter, lower output than many high-gain humbuckers (around 13k treble and 11k bass DC resistance), which keeps notes clear under gain and makes them work well with both tube amps and digital modelers. The push/pull tone control splits the coils, giving six usable sounds from the 3-way blade switch.

Floyd Rose bridge and tuning

The Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo has a 16″ radius to match the fretboard and is made for dive bombs, flutters and wide vibrato while keeping the guitar in tune. A locking nut and PRS Phase III non-locking tuners complete the setup.

Neck and playability

The bolt-on maple neck has hormigo strength rods for stability and resonance, an ebony fretboard with offset dot inlays and blue Luminlay side dots. String spacing matches the PRS Silver Sky and Fiore, slightly wider than traditional PRS spacing. The body has an exaggerated scoop for upper-fret access and a belly carve.
