Stylus pickups

The PRS Stylus SVN pickups were developed for the Tekton family. They use Alnico 5 magnets and have a flatter, lower output than many high-gain humbuckers (around 13k treble and 11k bass DC resistance), which keeps notes clear under gain and makes them work well with both tube amps and digital modelers. The push/pull tone control splits the coils, giving six usable sounds from the 3-way blade switch.

Bridge and tuning

The 7-string PRS Hardtail bridge has individual saddles for precise intonation and a string-through design for resonance and sustain, paired with PRS Phase III locking tuners. The guitar is set up for standard 7-string tuning: B, E, A, D, G, B, E.

Neck and playability

The bolt-on maple neck has hormigo strength rods for stability and resonance, an ebony fretboard with offset dot inlays and blue Luminlay side dots. String spacing matches the PRS Silver Sky and Fiore, slightly wider than traditional PRS spacing. The body has an exaggerated scoop for upper-fret access and a belly carve.

If you are moving to a 7-string for the first time, the longer 26.5″ scale and the wider string spacing are worth trying in person. Both affect how the low string feels and how comfortable chords and fast lines are for your hands.

Who is this 7-string for?

The Tekton SVN suits players who want a modern 7-string with a clear, controlled low end. The Stylus SVN pickups are designed to stay articulate under gain and work with tube amps as well as digital modelers. You can play it at our showroom in Hilversum to see if the neck and string spacing suit you.
