Swing Jazz Deluxe 5 Gold Sparkle

The Swing Jazz Deluxe 5 Gold Sparkle is a 5-string Jazz-style bass with a chambered alder body, a maple neck and Tesla hum-cancelling Jazz pickups. Its 18V Swing preamp has a 4-band EQ and an active/passive switch, so you can play it fully active or as a passive Jazz bass. It is priced at 1489 EUR and a padded gig bag is included.

Gold sparkle finish with a matching headstock, white pearloid pickguard, gold control plate and gold hardware.

Sound and electronics

The Tesla hum-cancelling Jazz pickups feed an 18V Swing preamp. The 4-band EQ gives you control over bass, low mid, high mid and treble, and the volume, balance and master tone controls cover the classic Jazz bass territory.

• Active mode: use the full 4-band EQ to shape your tone.
• Passive mode: switch the preamp off for a traditional passive Jazz bass character.
• Hum-cancelling pickups: useful for keeping noise down on stage and in the studio.

Neck, fingerboard and playability

The maple neck is reinforced with 2 carbon fibre rods and carries a gloss maple fingerboard with 21 frets. The scale length is 34″ (864 mm), the nut width is 45 mm and the string spacing is 19 mm. Hipshot tuners and the Swing bridge complete the hardware.

The chambered alder body is part of what defines this instrument. If you are moving from a 4-string bass, the extra string adds low range and more options for playing across the neck, so it is worth trying the neck dimensions in person if you can.

Gold sparkle finish

This version comes in Gold Sparkle, with a matching headstock, a white pearloid pickguard, a gold control plate and gold hardware. It is a bold look for players who want a Jazz-style bass that stands out on stage.

Who is this 5-string Jazz bass for?

It suits bass players who want a versatile 5-string with both active and passive options in one instrument. Because you can switch the preamp off, one bass can cover different styles and setups.
