Who is a heavy gauge string set for?

Heavier gauges increase string tension and are often chosen for a firm feel, a full sound or lower tunings. If you like a solid response under your picking hand, a heavy set is worth trying.

Changing gauge: what to expect

If you change to a lighter or heavier gauge than your guitar currently uses, the different string tension can affect neck relief, action and intonation, so a setup adjustment may be needed after restringing.

If you are unsure whether this set suits your guitar, ask a technician to check the setup after fitting the new strings.
